I'd like to answer a few questions which many people have been asking me. First, I do not currently have any Clannad concert information. The last major tour was in 1996. Unfortunately they never made it to the USA. Maybe sometime in the future they'll come. But for now, there are no new scheduled concerts.

Although these pages represent the largest Clannad website on the planet, it is not officially recognized by Clannad. I hope that this will be changing in the future! But for now, as I've had some fans e-mail me thinking that they were talking to the band themselves, I've decided to clarify this. I am not, and have no affiliation with, Clannad itself. If you are tying to contact the band in any way, I cannot help.

I have created this page because I am a certified Clannad fanatic. But in addition to this, I have found information on Clannad to be hard to come by, and other people who are fans of the group seem to feel the same way. A few years ago, a search for Clannad would have turned up some discographies and a few images. No concert information, bios, or articles were readily availible. This is not a fair representation for a group which is quite prominent in the Irish music industry. So, it is my hope that this website become a storehouse for all things Clannad.

If you have any information at all, please E-Mail me and I'll post it for all to see. I'm looking for articles, links to related pages, lyrics, translated lyrics (for those of us who can't speak Gaelic), concert info, fan club info, biographies on band members, favorite foods, shoe sizes, or anything else related to Clannad.

And if the quartet would like to give me copies of all of their albums signed by each of them, that is perfectly fine too!

Immediate plans for this page are to add all possible lyrics and other song info to the growing Songs sections. I have also been trying to aquire up to date concert information as often as possible.

For those that don't already know, here's how I discovered Clannad:

It was the summer of 1991 when I first heard the music of Clannad. My girlfriend (now my wife) was a camp counselor at that time, and one of her co-workers mentioned a random British TV show called "Robin of Sherwood." That random comment sparked a quest to find this show. I found four two part episodes on video at the local Blockbuster video store and immediately became addicted. Intrigued by the music, I checked the end credits and found the words "Music by Clannad."

I immediately checked the local record stores and found one lone Clannad CD: PastPresent. It got me hooked on the group and I searched far and wide for other albums. Sirius came soon after. After a year, Macalla, and Anam were common as well, as was Banba when it came out in 1993. But most of the older ones like Dulaman and Clannad in Concert took more effort. Today they are available in almost any of the larger record chains, but a few years ago they were difficult to find. Legend and Magical Ring took about a year just to find someone to import them. I now have every available album. Unfortunately, the original Clannad album, called simply "Clannad", is out of publication. If anyone has an original copy I'd be very interested in aquireing it.

Well that's it for now, thanks for visiting the Clannad Website!
