Extrasolar Visions is back after major server failures

The Extrasolar Visions Website has been having intermittent server problems for many months now. These problems have finally been resolved. A faster and more powerful server has been purchased for the site and the transfer of files and code is now complete. Hopefully, the system errors which have plagued Extrasolar Visions are now in the past.

As a result of the server failures, some e-mail received by the site during the past few months may have been lost. The old e-mail address, info@jtwinc.com, is being retired, to be replaced by a new address to be announced soon. If you have not received a reply to a message sent to info@jtwinc.com, please resend your message to the new address when it is announced. I will be updating pages with links to the email address over the next week or so.

Some of the past failures have been so severe that the site has been unavailable for weeks. This has led some to conclude that Extrasolar Visions is closing down permanently. As you can see, that is not the case.

I have tried to bring a resolution to this problem as quickly as possible, but please realize that this site is still more of a personal hobby than a commercial business. I am a contract programmer by trade, and spend nine to five on projects and deadlines that have nothing to do (unfortunately) with astronomy or art. I sometimes cannot spend as much time on the site as I would wish. The past server failures have only aggravated the problem as I have spent what little time I have installing the new system instead of updating the site. But now that the site is on the new server, updates should be much more frequent.
